Joe & Nicole's Wedding. Burlington, IA
I have the privilege of meeting and getting to know so many amazing new people at weddings. It's so fun getting to make those new connections! Just over a year ago Paul and I met Joe and Nicole at a wedding here in Burlington. They told us about how they were newly engaged and they were actually in the process of planning their own wedding.. fast forward a year and here we are. Blessed with the opportunity to be apart of their big day.
We started the day off with the sweetest first looks between Nicole and her dad and her soon to be husband. I always love having the opportunity of doing first looks before the actual ceremony, it turns out to be such a special moment between the two of them and normally gives the couple a bit more time to spend together as well!
It was an indoor ceremony and reception so we weren't so worried about the sky full of storm clouds and expected rain but Joe and Nicole had picked out this great spot just down the road over looking the Mississippi. We headed out in hopes it would hold off... it couldn't have turned out better. We got lots of great pictures with no rain but the second we sat down in the cars to head back it started raining (I'm a firm believer rain on your wedding day is the best of luck).
We turned the hotel lobby into a photo studio and took some huge family photos (I LOVE big families) and it was so fun getting everyone in the same picture-those are such special memories that don't happen as often as we wish they did.
After the ceremony the rain actually stopped and we headed back outside for a few more photos while their guests enjoyed drinks and the cutest popcorn bar!
The Wedding was big and beautiful, just like their love for each other. With a guest count of over 300 these two have so much love and support behind them its amazing.
There were beautiful details, happy tears and lots of love and laughter... here's to their happily ever after!
